March Favourites 2015

Hey everyone, so March is officially over and Easter has arrived. There are several products I have been trying or rediscovering over my school break and throughout the rest of the month and I am delighted to share them with you.

Kitsch Hair Ties-I bought these in a boots clearance section a couple of months ago and hadn't really used them until recently. I love these! They look so cute on your wrist and I can really vouch for the benefits because they don't kink or pull out any hair when removed. I also like these ones for Spring/Summer as they are fun ombré colours.

Max Factor Lipstick (Shade: Star Dust Pink 615)-This is the first Max Factor lipstick I have purchased myself and I just love the colour for this time of year and find it complements so many skin tones. The formula of this lipstick is really nice, it is a satin finish as it is almost matte with a slight sheen which makes the lipstick comfortable and mousturizing! I will deffinately be picking more of these up.

Soap and Glory Archery Brow Pencil-I bought this product about a week or so ago and it is deffinately favourite worthy already! It is so easy, precise and natural looking. I find it accentuates and fills in my brows really nicely without looking obviously drawn on or unnatural. It is also apparently a dupe for the Anastasia brow wizz.

Benefit Moisture Prep Toning Lotion-I recieved this for Christmas and hadn't really touched it until recently as my skin has been feeling more dry. The product itself smells incredible as I find with all benefit skincare (which I'm a huge fan of.) It is a really lovely product which I use in the morning before my moisturizer and find my skin feels softer for longer and appears even more glowy.

Garnier Moisture Match Gel Moisturizer for Dull Skin-I used a sample of this from a magazine and loved how quickly is sank into my skin and made my skin look and feel more awake. When seeing the 50ml tube was only £3.99 I couldn't not pick it up, I really like it and this it's a fantastic item for the 'warmer' months. This range has 5 different moisturizers all targeted at improving different aspects of the skin.

Bourjois 123 Perfect CC cream- I LOVE THIS STUFF! This is the perfect face product for me, it ticks all the boxes. It is natural looking, moisturizing, luminating, colour correcting and it matches my skin colour!! It is a deffinate must for people like me who don't have many blemishes but struggle with a dull and uneven skin tone. When going out, I use it with a primer with my real techniques complexion sponge and on an everyday basis I mix it with my moisturizer which works wonderfully.

L'oreal Lumi Magique Concealer-Not much to say about this one, it's fab, blends well, brightens and conceals, all you need really! And the packaging is to die for.

Formula X for Sephora (shade:unmistakable)-This is by far the prettiest nail polish shade I own, I find the formula nice and opaque. It's my favourite shade for this time of year and I know I will be wearing it A LOT!

Lots of favourites this month but that's not a bad thing. Hope you guys benefit from this post, let me know if you have tried any of these product and/or what your favourites are this month.

DIY Dressing Table Decoration and Brush Holders

Hi guys! So a few weeks ago I decided I was going to decorate my room, I began to look on pinterest etc. but I am unable to decorate until next month, I will make sure to do a blog post about it. However, I was in the mood to get decorative and creative so decided to beautify my dressing table. Unfortunately I am unable to tell you exactly where my dressing table is from as I bought it from eBay about a year ago but it's looked a bit worn and the paint was fading in areas. (Please excuse the mess underneath my dressing table.)

I decided rather than simply repainting it I would try something slightly different, this wasn't actually inspired from anywhere. I purchased a very inexpensive roll of patterned sticky back plastic from eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161192476034?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT) there are hundreds to choose from if you don't like mine!
If you are going to do this 'DIY', make sure to clean the surface you are covering very well. I decided to cover the top of the table and the front of the drawers and I love the way it looks!
As I had some of the roll left I decided to cover some glass jars for my brushes, I simply surrounded the jars with the sticky back plastic and then stuck plain white labels and wrote 'eyes' and 'face'.

I hope you guys like this and maybe can recreate your own version of this 'DIY', it's so easy but makes such a nice difference to you room, thanks for reading.

My Autumn Lipsticks

Hi guys, so we are deep into my favourite season now, which is obviously Autumn, I just love being able to go outside in a jumper and finding I am not too hot or too cold. There are many things I love about this season including the weather, the leaves, the celebrations, the fashion and of course the makeup. I really love the darker hues and the warmer shades and the ability to experiment with the endless trends around this time of year. Having said that I thought I would share a few of my favourite highstreet/drugstore lipsticks at the moment. So here they are...
From left to right they are: 17 Supreme Shine Lipstick in shade Pink Posey, Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in shade 050 Berry Smoothie, Revlon Colorburst Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in shade 001 Honey, Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in shade 107 and 17 Stay Pout Lipstick in shade Rule Breaker.

1. I love this colour simply because it is so unique, it is a vibrant berry shade and looks amazing on a variety of skin colours. It only costs £4.99 which I think is amazing for the formula which is glossy and moisturizing but yet still long lasting and after wearing off leaves a lovely stain on the lips. I think this is the perfect day to night Autumn lip colour.
2. The Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters were a huge success and had a high level of hype around them, I wasn't a fan of the first shade I picked up but when they were on offer I decided to pick up shade 050 and this shade changed my opinion on the whole line. I really like this as it is so wearable, if you want to darken your lip colour yet still want to have natural makeup, this glossy easy to wear lip butter is for you! Price £7.99.
3. I bought this in the recent summer and have loved it since day one. The shade is stunning and the reason I have included it in my fall picks is because it is in my opinion a berry twist on a classic nude. I love the mauve look it gives my lip and it just works so well with any look. I think it is a real must have as the tingly formula and the unusual colour make it perfect for the colder months. Price £7.99.
4. This colour is a classic, I would describe it as a raspberry wine, perfect for an evening as it is a rich colour and because it is matte, it lasts ages! I love this line and own three of the colours, I love how the matte formula doesn't dry out my lips. Price £5.49.
5. This is my latest addition of all the five lip products, it's gorgeous (my pictures don't really do it justice). It is the perfect purple lip for me as I can wear it comfortably because the slight berry look to it makes it more wearable in my opinion. The formula is long lasting with a satin type finish and I love this line, will definitely be picking up a few more colours as the colour selection is fab! Price £4.49.

(pictures are no flash, flash, no flash, flash) Sorry I swatched them in the same order as the first image however the Rimmel lipstick is at the end and the stay pout lipstick is second to last, sorry.

So these are my favourite Autumn lippies at the moment, I would love to hear yours! It has made me realise I need to try some less pink colours and maybe get out of my comfort zone. This is my first ever blog post so constructive criticism, questions and ideas for future blogs are more than welcome. -Alex-
